Important Compatibility Notes:
- Fully compatible with the BMW 7 Series (E65 / E66 / E67), for both Single iDrive and Dual iDrive (Rear Seat Entertainment) systems.
- Supports all factory sound systems: Base Sound System, HiFi Sound System (S676A), Harman Kardon / Top HiFi (S688A/S677A), and Logic 7.
- Coding required if factory CD changer is missing: If the vehicle was not equipped with a physical CD changer from the factory, the CD changer function (CD/MP3 changer preparation) must be software-activated in the iDrive system. This can easily be done via the OBD port using a GEN2BME dongle (activator), or via professional coders/dealers with suitable diagnostic software.
- ID3 Tags: Display of song metadata (title, artist) is exclusively supported on CCC and CIC head units.
- CD changer bypass: The interface cannot be used simultaneously with an existing CD changer. Any existing CD changer must be disconnected and optically bypassed using the included MOST-LPFE optical loop.
