Digital Music Changer LP1601BM ( with latest firmware! ) is an interface / audio adapter for factory BMW infotainment systems with a MOST optic fiber system (fiber optic).

The integrated Bluetooth module makes it possible to make hands-free telephone calls (car kit) and to stream music wirelessly from a mobile phone or another connected Bluetooth device. Suitable for streaming Spotify and Deezer, among others.

This interface also makes it possible to play music in MP3 and WMA format from a USB stick or a microSD card in CD quality via your car radio.

The interface also has a 3.5mm AUX input / audio connection for external sound sources.

This interface / audio adapter behaves like a CD changer, and is also recognized as such by your infotainment system. This maintains the full functionality of your car.

Product features:

• Integrated Bluetooth module with support for Hands-free calling (HFP). Operation takes place via your original infotainment system or steering wheel buttons (AVRCP)
• Built-in high-quality Hi-Fi decoder with perfect support for MP3 (up to 320Kbit/s bit rate) and WMA files
• Support for USB/microSD up to 32GB. USB stick or microSD card must be formatted FAT32. Music should be divided into 6 folders. Operation takes place via your original car radio or steering wheel buttons. Track info is displayed on screen (if supported by the radio and connected smartphone)
• Connection of external sound sources possible via 3.5mm AUX IN linear audio input using the supplied AUX cable
• Memory for the last playback position, which resumes playback when the radio is switched on and off
• Charging mobile devices via the USB port (300mA)

• No loss of quality or interference (as with FM transmitters) thanks to the direct digital optical coupling

Notes:

• If there is no CD changer available, the CD changer support must be encoded. Can be done yourself with a GEN2BME dongle (CD changer activator via OBD), or by a BMW dealer with an Autologic diagnostic computer
• Cannot be combined with an existing CD changer. Existing CD changer is replaced by this interface
• Song metadata is only supported on CCC and CIC head units
• DIP switch settings per type of infotainment system can be consulted here
